A few small tweaks can make wonders

After using Firecore almost daily for a year (love it!) I found a few opportunities for tweaks that would make life a lot easier!

  • Detect “sample.mkv/avi/mp4” and don’t treat them like real movies. Currently they all resolve to a movie called Semen (yes, seriously! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416214/ ). Ignore them or add them as part of the metadata view!

  • Allow sort by watched status - so that I don’t have to scroll through all watched titles all the time

  • Some movies will show a poor cover image. I know I can manually put my own folder image, but I guess that the source of these images (themoviedb?) often lists multiple images per movie. A simple solution would then be to randomize which image is picked every time a user reloads metadata. This allows the user to cycle through available images for a particular movie.

  • I have a Movie folder, inside it one folder per movie, and inside the movie folder, sometimes a subfolder for subs or similar, e.g. Movies/TheMovie (2012)/subs . This always seem to break Firecore’s movie detection, making it display as a folder instead of as a movie (normally, a movie file inside a folder will be treated identified directly as a movie). If you simply ignore folders that doesn’t contain movies themselves, it would display directly as a recognized movie instead of as a folder
