I’m not sure if this is an AppleTV issue, it’s more likely an issue on all platforms - feel free to move it to a better location.
Let’s say we have two AppleTV devices running infuse with a tv show: device A and device B.
A watches season 1 and stops watching at 50% of S01E03. B continues from that point and finished S01E03, he is now paused at 50% S01E04.
Now, what I expect to see on A is a synced version. Instead, A thinks it’s still on 50% of S01E03 and it also sees 50% of S01E04.
This was not the case on 7.x, which worked correctly.
Is anyone else seeing this issue?
Did you try the update to 8.0.2?
Not yet. The release notes didn’t note this issue so i assumed it was not addressed.
No change in behavior in 8.02.
Just tested.
Device A finished an episode. Device B shows the last spot that episode was stopped on B
Did you let the iCloud sync complete on the second device before you checked? You can see that on the library settings page.
I think I found an issue. I have multiple iCloud accounts. They might not be aligned
Wait. What happens if you switch iCloud accounts ?
Do you need to exit infuse?
If the sync and the rest of the functionality happens when the app loads, then the bug might be that it doesn’t do anything when switching account …
All devices need to be using the same Apple ID for iCloud sync to work. If you’re switching Apple IDs and then coming back to Infuse you may need to either restart Infuse or click the sync button to get it to sync.
I’m not sure there’s any trigger that Infuse can see when it’s in the background as to when IDs change so it may need you to trigger it.
Other apps like Apple TV+ and my local tv provider change profiles when you switch.
Ok, I set both to my normal account on both devices. I restarted infuse on both devices. Issue continues.
On my phone I can see that I’m watching a show and it’s not on the top resume list.
Something funky is happening on 8.x on the update to iCloud timing and retrieve from iCloud.
