5.3 Untethered - ATV2 won't boot past logo

Hi all,

 

I used the latest Seas0nPass to jailbreak my ATV2 last night, however it will not boot past the logo screen and has the slow blinking light on the front. Have tried re-jailbreaking 4 times and get the same result. I’ve looked through the Sea0nPass log and can’t see anything that stands out as amajor problem, but have uploaded here: http://pastebin.com/Cv9bvz2h.

 

It almost seems like it is a tethered JB and requires being connected to the PC to boot however I’ve tried this as well and Seas0nPass tells me it doesn’t need a tethered boot.

 

The only other thing to note is that when the Seas0nPass process finished it didn’t have the same message as displayed on this page: http://support.firecore.com/entries/387605. Instead of saying “Firmware restore successful!” it said “Custom IPSW created successfully!”. No idea if this matters.

 

Appreciate if anyone has any advice please?

the message is ok!

I had the same problem, so i restored first a original 5.3 via iTunes and then re-jailbreaked it with SeasonPass 0.9.5

now it works fine

 

but also the new jailbreak takes about 20 seconds after the logo disappeared to finish booting - so be patient!

i have tried reinstalling 5.3 via itunes and then used season pass 0.9.5 to jailbreak but it still has a black screen after the logo screen, anyone else finding this?

try original 5.3 via itunes - then connect to tv and let start with original - then re-jailbreak with sp 0.9.5

to make the Untethered 5.3 you must use the usb + power

not for me - did all without power!

but someone reported that he had only success with power - so maybe this works also for you

I have 2 ATV2’s.   One went through fine with just the USB while the other needed the Power cord as well (just shows that not all ATV2’s are created equal :) ).  When I used the power cord I did not get an error at the end as is the case when iTunes was doing the restore.

Solution worked perfectly for me. Re-install 5.3, with power plugged in jailbreak with Seas0nPass. Thanks for the tips, was a bit frustrated for a bit there.
