I’ve downloaded the app and it does exactly what I’ve been looking for. The AirPlay update is perfect. However, I’ve noticed that many of MKV files get an sound error - “Sorry, Infuse is unable to play sound for this video”. The only audio track I have is English 5.1ch DTS @ 1 509 Kbps. These are rips from Blu-Ray discs. Is there any way to get the sound to play on these files?
Just to add to this - how are people watching Blu-Ray rips that are in MKV? Is there a way to rip it so the audio is not 5.1? Would Blu-Ray MKVs not work with Infuse?
DTS audio is something we’re working hard to add, and plan to have available soon.
Many videos contain multiple audio tracks (AC3, AAC, DTS, etc…) and Infuse will automatically select a usable track even if the video contains a DTS audio track. If the video contains only a DTS track (this is the case if you’re getting an ‘unable to play audio’ message) Infuse won’t be able to play that video, at least in the current version.
Has there been any progress in getting DTS support all my mkv’s have DTS as most blu-Ray use that format
I was hoping infuse pro would have support but it does not so will have to go back to my other app that supports it
Are you still going to add this feature?
Dts + xbmc (upnp) = early retirement for James as this will bring xbmc .org / xbmchub / unity / xbmcxbox / tlbb etc user flooding in. There is discussions re: these topics on each of these forums. It’s an absolute hotbed of sales in incredibly high figures of iOS/xbmc users.
If/when this gets added, I think James will need new pants!
Now with v2.2 I’m so glad streaming is introduced. Just tried it on my iPhone 5s and works great. Although I really hope the DTS support is in the next v2.3 release together with a ‘remote library’ like on infuse for ATV, so you get a nice overview of your library.
It’s the only thing holding me to XBMC on my iPad2 and not updating to iOS7.
This a great app, but now it has gona many month since you told us that you are working hard to fix DTS to Infuse, how is it going? It's very important for many, you can if you like have an addon only for DTS which cost extra, only you fix it :)
I suggest that you read this posting http://forum.firecore.com/topic/12186 that is a 'sticky' in the General Discusions sub-forum about what is holding up the DTS support
What I don't understand is they say it's not available but it's working (or transcoding) in many other apps on the App Store VLC player being one of them.
can somone explain if it's working in the other app why is it not used in infuse the same way they are making it work?

What I understood from the sticky above is that the current non-availability is due to a licensing issue, not a technical issue. Bummer, but there you go.
Maybe it is due to the following warning that VLC have on their website about the use of the library that provide DTS support ....
Provisional Warning: DTS Inc. claims that use of libdca software, to decode DTS compressed sound data on a DVD could violate DTS's patent rights. If you are unsure about the legality of using and distributing this code in your country, in particular in the USA, please consult your lawyer before downloading it.
VLC may be violating patent rights. Many media player apps that had DTS support provided updates that removed DTS support after they were contacted by DTS Inc about violating their patents if they included DTS support without licensing it. It is definitely not a technical issue as fireCore have DTS working on the ATV2 (which bypasses the App store) so they know how to get it working…
earlier I used MediaPlayer for my ATV. In the settings I found the audi setting where I can play with the DTS and AC3 support. Now I updated my ATVFlash and Media Player disappeared from the maintenance menu only I can install the Infuse without this AC3 DTS support. Can I downgrade my ATV to older version where I could use the old Media Player??? Or have any solution to use MediaPlayer not Infuse???
inFuse is simply the current name for the latest version of the Media Player on ATV2. It still has settings for DTS and AC3 audio under Settings->Playback. Since you have posted in this section which is intended for inFuse on iPhone/iPad are you sure you are not egetting confused by the fact that the iPhone/iPad version of inFuse does not yet have support for DTS audio.
