5.0.2 to 5.3 without blobs?

Hello all, and forgive the newbieness... but I have an ATV2 jailbroken on 5.0.2. I've wanted to upgrade to the newest 'breakable' version, and recently read about 5.3 being available untethered. However, I also feel that in my research, it has stated if you don't have blobs for a specific OS version, the you can't upgrade to it. Am I incorrect in this? Can I upgrade my 5.0.2 using the 5.3 ipsw file I downloaded? I don't mind having to refresh everything - I feel like my ATV2 could use a 'spring clean' anyway.

Thanks.

Yes - you can go to 5.3 without saved blobs because Apple is still signing that release.

Hi,

same here. Still running jailbreaked 5.0.2 and finally want to update to 5.3. Is it still possible to do so without saving blobs? Just tried it with seas0npass 0.9.6 on Mac but it won't work. extraction failed error.

If it is possible how do i proceed? Just use seas0npass, let it download 5.3, create the firmware and run the usual process?

thx

Still works, I just jailbroke to 5.3. Since you're on a Mac, you may want to read this: http://forum.firecore.com/topic/11654
