Would I notice any improvement in picture quality by watching a 4K remux of a movie over a 1080p remux on a 1080p SDR TV? I read somewhere that it would due to chroma subsampling (or something like that). Originally I assumed it would look worse due to not having an HDR TV, but I just recently read about tone mapping and how Infuse supports it.
No you wouldn’t see any improvement. What you would have is a bunch of 4K movies available for when you upgrade your tv in the future.
