4K 120h - Is it possible?

I currently have a 1st Gen Apple TV 4K.
I’m streaming my own content from a local NAS to my Apple TV via Infuse 7 Pro.

My current TV does not support 120Hz, but I am looking to buy a TV that does since I have a lot of high-frame rate content on my server (all encoded in 264).

I read that the Apple TV 4K, even the newest one, does not support 4K 120Hz playback.
Is this true? Is it at all possible for me to play my content at the desired refresh rate?

4K 60 is the max Apple allows at the moment, even if it is powerful enough
