4.4.4 (iOS 5.0.1 - 9A406a) - untethered update to latest iOS untethered

Hello,

 

Now i have 4.4.4 (iOS 5.0.1 - 9A406a) - untethered.

 

What do i have to do to update to latest atv2 version and to keep it untethered jailbreak?

Will i use my aTV Flash and XBMC settings?

If you want to upgrade to the latest iOS version for the Apple TV 2 you will need to rejailbreak using the latest version of Seas0nPass. Unfortunately there isn’t an upgrade path that exists for Apple TV’s that are currently jailbroken.

So just re-jailbreak?

no need to update apple tv first? then reinstall everything?

Correct you do not need to update the Apple TV first; flashing the latest IPSW will get you up to date.

You could backup your XBMC folder and then SFTP it back to the Apple TV so that you don’t need to set it all back up.

Need some help Can someone tell the easiest way to update an already jailbroken Apple TV 2 on 4.4.4 (iOS 5.0.1 - 9A406a). I have tied everything and nothing seems to work. I just keep getting error once iTunes tries to restore. Thanks

Restore with an official 5.0.2 (iOS 5.1.1), apple is still signing. Then create the firmware through SeasonPass.
