Hi James,
Any updates on the 3D support for the Vision Pro app?
I moved your post to the currently running suggestion thread where you can follow it for status updates.

Looks like planned features for Infuse 8.3 are starting to be added to the Upcoming Features thread, but still no mention of 3D support on Vision Pro. ![]()
Bumping this thread to make sure this suggestion isn’t forgotten. ![]()
Not forgotten, it’s still tagged as “wishlist” ![]()
I’d really love to see this feature make it into a future update as well. Since this thread has been quiet for quite a while, I wanted to add my support and bump the topic. Is there any recent info from the dev team on whether 3D support is still being considered or is technically feasible on their end for Infuse?
In the Immersive environments for visionOS thread, @james posted this last month when asked whether 3D support will eventually be added to Infuse on Vision Pro:
So, there’s still hope. Without 3D support, I just don’t use Infuse as frequently as other apps on my Vision Pro since I mainly use the device to watch 3D movies. If/when 3D support is added to Infuse, it will instantly become my most-used app on Vision Pro.
@james any idea how long before 3D video playback becomes supported? Just rough/tentative eta is good too. Thank you
Bumping for visibility and to keep this suggestion on the radar. ![]()
Infuse would truly be the only media player beside YouTube that you’d need on Vision Pro if it had this functionality ![]()
Hi Firecore team,
Infuse on Vision Pro is one of a kind and the best experience I’ve ever had among all video players on all XR headsets. But there is still one missing piece to it, that is to play stereoscopic and spatial content.
Since WWDC 2025 with the introduction of Apple Projected Media Profile, things start becoming easy. I’ve took some time implementing my own little project (linked below) using ffmpeg to demux video container with HW decoding, and then send to VideoPlayerComponent to achieve a near-native video rendering efficiency. It’s really not that hard, providing that your existing codebase is pretty omnipotent.
The key part is in NutshellPlayer/Views/Entities/APMPPlayerEntity.swift, it’s receiving decoded CMReadySampleBuffer<CMSampleBuffer.DynamicContent> and injecting APMP tags into the decoded buffer, then sending it to Apple native VideoPlayerComponent using AVSampleBufferVideoRenderer.
Figuring out how to make FFmpeg work took me 5 days, but APMP injection and rendering it in immersive space only took me 2 days. It really won’t take too much of your dev’s effort to implement this feature with so many ready-to-use tools provided by Apple. I hope this post can reach your dev team and bump up any ticket related to this feature in your backlog.
I’m really looking forward to watch all my spatial content in infuse with an upcoming update.
+1 on this.
Hello, I really love Infuse and I’d immediately go for the lifetime subscription, if it only would support 3D. Is it really that hard to implement? I would love to only use one app and Infuse is just perfect otherwise so please!!

Throwing my pledge in to also purchase when 3D support is added. AVP lacks a definitive media player and Infuse would be there if we could just get 3D support. 3D is the best part of watching movies on a headset, shocked this isn’t top priority.
I am a huge fan of infuse on Vision Pro! I purchased lifetime with my first month of using it, no regrets! I would like to also cheer on the firecore team as they bring 3D video support to vision pro

+1 for supporting 3D video libraries on the AVP (yes, already liked first post)
I am very disappointed with how Infuse has handled the development of 3D playback support.
This feature was previously listed as part of the development plan, which created clear expectations among users. Some users, including lifetime subscribers, purchased Infuse with the reasonable expectation that 3D support would eventually be delivered. However, the feature has been repeatedly delayed and now appears to have moved from the planned roadmap to the wishlist. This feels like a significant step backward.
I fully understand that software development can be difficult and that features may take longer than expected. But moving an anticipated feature from “planned” to “wishlist” without a clear explanation is not responsible to users who paid based on the roadmap.
Infuse should provide a transparent update: Is 3D support still actively planned? What is its current priority? Is there any realistic timeline? For users who purchased lifetime subscriptions while expecting this feature, simply pushing it back again and again is not acceptable.
I hope the Infuse team will take this feedback seriously and communicate more responsibly with its paying users.
@james Would be great to hear your feedback here
