28 trillion, 788 billion, 124 million, 258 thousand, 304 bytes used. Zero bytes free!

I just copied a 10.1 GB (10,927,048,052 bytes), 4K episode of “Rings of Power” (S02E01) to my NAS, just after copying over episodes two and three of the same show (27.4 GB in all — 29 billion, 438 million, 496 thousand, 347 bytes).

ALWAYS, if there isn’t enough free space on my NAS, the cut/paste from my laptop will pop an alert window to tell me it isn’t possible.

So can someone tell me how this happened? Not 698 bytes free. Not 47 bytes free. Not ONE byte free. Zero! Zero bytes free! And the file still fit. And plays normally. :exploding_head:

So just me then? Huh.

(My NAS share’s recycle bin had already been emptied; so that can’t be the reason the file was made to fit. Really, I’m at a loss.)

Might be a question for the NAS manufacturer. :man_shrugging:

I’m just thinking the odds of that happening naturally are like a thousand times less likely than winning the PowerBall jackpot.

I feel like their ought to be some prize involved or something. :man_shrugging:t2:
