Hi Firecore team,
I am seeing what may be a refresh rate matching issue when using Infuse Pro on M5 Apple Vision Pro.
Device and software
-
Apple Vision Pro: M5 model, supports up to 120 Hz
-
visionOS: visionOS 27 Developer Beta 3
-
Infuse: Infuse Pro 8.4.8 (5690)
-
Confirmed playback mode: standard windowed playback
-
Full-screen immersive playback: tested, but active refresh rate could not be verified
Issue
During windowed playback, Infuse’s playback statistics consistently report:
Screen frame rate: 90.00 / 90.00 Hz
The reported screen refresh rate does not change based on the frame rate of the video being played. This causes frame rate judder:
I tested multiple unrelated files from different sources:
-
23.976/24 fps video → 90.00/90.00 Hz
-
25 fps video → 90.00/90.00 Hz
-
29.97 fps video → 90.00/90.00 Hz
Infuse correctly identifies the frame rate of each video, but the reported screen frame rate remains fixed at 90 Hz.
Full-screen and immersive-mode testing
I also tested the Full Screen option, which opens Infuse’s exclusive immersive playback environment.
However, the playback statistics overlay is not available once the immersive environment is entered. Because of this, I cannot verify whether the screen remains at 90 Hz or switches to a matched refresh rate such as 96, 100, or 120 Hz.
Expected behavior
I would expect Infuse or visionOS to use an appropriate display cadence for the source frame rate when supported.
For example:
-
23.976/24 fps content could use approximately 96 Hz or 120 Hz.
-
25 fps content could use 100 Hz.
-
29.97 fps content can use approximately 90 Hz with a near-3:1 cadence.
The fixed 90 Hz value is therefore most concerning for 23.976/24 fps and 25 fps content, since 90 Hz is not an integer multiple of either frame rate. I can notice uneven motion or judder in some scenes, particularly during slow camera pans.
Questions
Thus, I wonder does Infuse currently request content matched refresh rates on the M5 Apple Vision Pro?
Also, can refresh rate matching be enabled after entering the full screen immersive environment?
I can provide diagnostics, MediaInfo details, or additional test results if needed.
Thanks.
